Dear all,
I now have the possibility of giving you some reliable information about the cost of transportation to Tunis.
The "Compagnie Tunisienne de Navigation" is state owned and the Ministry of Transport has promised to the organising club a discount of 50% on the normal fares. An official statement should arrive in the next few days. It is intended that taxes, harbour rights etc. will not be discounted, but the final rebate will nevertheless be relevant.
Ferry passages will be possible from Genova and from Marseilles.
I calculated that four people with a car (less than 6 meters long) and a trailer with two boats, will spend:
1) for a return ticket, in armchair accommodation, € 300,00 each person;
2) for a return ticket, in cabin accommodation, € 350,00 each person.
In order to let you inform all your national teams about the expected total costs of this championship, I remind that a free camping area will be provided on the venue site. Those who should prefer the hotel accommodation will spend € 35,00 per day (half pension in the four stars hotel on the venue site).
Now it is important that these informations are quickly widespread to all the national teams, because the "Compagnie Tunisienne de Navigation" will surely ask all the competitors for booking very in advance, as a condition to apply the discounted fares.
